Its come to our attention that certain users of the www.accuweather.com free weather information site may have experienced some inconvenience due to the unintended download of the Errorsafe SystemDoctor PC TurboPro adware. This software serves unwanted ads to online users.
We respect our online customers, strongly object to the use of adware and would never willfully allow such software to be distributed from our site. Unfortunately, a third-party banner ad network allowed a banner that apparently distributed the unwanted software to slip through their filtering system. This ad was not created by AccuWeather.com and appeared only for customers outside the U.S. The ad was identified and removed on Monday 5/21/07. We are reviewing the incident with the ad network that supplied the banner ad and will determine appropriate preventative action.
